These colorful candies taste way better than the rock formations they look like.
Hard candy, crushed, in a variety of colors (not rock candy - this will not melt)
Edible gold luster dust

Poke a hole in the center of a square of aluminum foil. Bend the foil so that you create short walls around the hole, then create the body of the agate by creating more walls with the foil.
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spray generously with cooking spray.
Sprinkle the crushed hard candy inside the molds, adding more candy than you feel you need - it will melt and shrink! Adding different colours will create interesting patterns once the candy has melted.
Bake in the oven at 300F for 5-10 minutes, or until the candy has completely melted. Don't leave the candy in any longer than necessary - it may bubble up and discolor.
Remove from the oven and allow the agate candies to cool completely on the baking sheet.
Gently remove them from the aluminum foil, using a sharpe knife to help, if necessary.
Wet a clean paintbrush with water, then dip into some edible gold luster dust. Paint this onto the edges of the candies to create gold edges.
