Bacon Egg Bowls

The best of breakfast served in a delicious and crispy bread bowl!

  • 9 ounces thickly sliced bacon, roughly chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 4 round burger buns or Kaiser rolls
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese, grated

Let's get Cooking...

  1. In a pan over medium heat, fry the bacon until crispy. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Set aside.
  2. Whisk the eggs, milk, salt, freshly ground black pepper and nutmeg in a bowl. For extra flavor, you can add any herb or seasoning of your choice.
  3. Slice the buns in half and remove the bread from the center, creating bowls. Place the bowls on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Evenly distribute the bacon and cheese between the bread bowls, then pour the egg mixture on top.
  4. Bake at 320 degrees F for 30 to 40 minutes, until the egg has set and is lightly browned. Remove from the oven and enjoy!
