Bacon Popcorn

Make your own yummy bacon popcorn — the Holy Grail of popcorn!

Recipe

Servings: 2-3 people

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup un-popped corn kernels
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • Salt to taste

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Cut bacon into smaller bits, place in a cold pot (big enough to pop the corn later), bring up the heat to medium and render the fat until crispy
  2. Remove bacon and let drain on a paper towel
  3. Remove excess bacon fat (keep in a jar for next time) and reserve 2-3 tablespoons in the pot
  4. Drop a few kernels and cover pot with a lid. When they begin to pop, add the rest of the kernels and immediately cover
  5. Constantly shake around the kernels until the popping sounds begin to lessen
  6. Transfer into a large bowl and season with a drizzle of more bacon fat and salt to taste
  7. In a separate bowl, combine honey and Sriracha. Drop in the bacon bits and coat until completely covered
  8. Mix into popcorn and enjoy with a beer!
