When a simple banana split won't do, spice up your sundae with caramelized bananas topped with rum sauce.
½ cup butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
3 ½ tablespoons rum
Vanilla ice cream
Let's get Cooking...
Add the butter and sugar into a large saucepan and melt together.
Cut the bananas in half, then half again and add to the pan. Allow to cook for a couple of minutes until softened, then add the rum and cook until all the alcohol has burned off. Set aside to cool slightly.
Build the sundae by layering ice cream, bananas and rum sauce. Finish with whipped cream and pecans.
