Black Cat Truffles

Ashley Adams

Made with Oreos, these adorable truffles may be too cute to eat. Or not.

  • Oreos
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • Black candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • Chocolate chips
  • Green Skittles
  • Black edible marker
  • Yellow or orange Starburst (taffy)
  • White jimmies

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add Oreos to a Ziploc bag and crush them up with a rolling pin. Combine crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese. Roll into 1-inch balls and refrigerate until firm, about an hour.
  3. Melt black candy melts with one tablespoon of coconut oil. Dip base of 2 chocolate chips into the melted candy and place on top of the ball as cat ears.
  4. Using a fork, dip the Oreo ball into the melted candy until well coated.
  5. Before candy hardens, place 2 green Skittles on the cat for the eyes. Draw a swirl pattern on the eyes with an edible marker.
  6. Let sit for a couple minutes to set slightly, then add three whiskers on each side using white jimmies.
  7. Add a taffy nose. (Nose should be a tiny, rounded edge triangle that faces down.)
  8. Let truffles harden completely before enjoying or gifting.
