Blue Raspberry Gum

Impress your friends and make your family proud with this colorful homemade blue raspberry gum.

Servings: 20 to 30 servings

  • 1/4 cup gum pellets
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon raspberry extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Blue food coloring
  • Red food coloring

Let's get Cooking...

  1. In a double boiler over medium heat, combine gum pellets, corn syrup and raspberry extract. Pour powdered sugar onto kitchen counter and divide into 2 even wells, as if you were making homemade pasta.
  2. Once gum base mixture has completely melted, remove from heat. Pour half of the gum base into each sugar well, and allow them to cool slightly before handling. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to one gum base. Slowly knead gum base throughout the sugar until gum is no longer sticky to the touch.
  3. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the next, and repeat kneading step. Gum will only absorb about half of the powdered sugar in each well. Roll each gum ball into 2 long rope shapes. Twist the ropes together to create a swirl. Cut desired amount of each piece and wrap in wax paper. Enjoy blowing bubbles!
