Creamy Bolognese

Upgrade this traditional meat sauce that's loaded with veggies and spices with a touch of milk.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1-2 onions, chopped
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 leek stalk, cut into rings
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • 4 thyme branches
  • 2 rosemary branches
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt & pepper
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/3 cup + 1 1/2 tablespoon milk
  • Spaghetti noodles, cooked

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the meat and stir. After 1 minute add onions, garlic and leeks. Add carrots, celery, tomatoes and tomato paste. Pour in the red wine and stir in the stewed tomatoes. Add the thyme, rosemary, parsley and oregano. Season with salt, pepper and sugar. Simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes.
  2. Add half of the milk and simmer for another 30 minutes. Repeat the process and simmer again for 30 minutes.
  3. Serve with spaghetti and Parmesan cheese.
