These tangy nuggets of deliciousness are what happens when you combine 2 iconic appetizers.
8 chicken cutlets
8 ounces mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Dough
1/2 cup Buffalo sauce
Ranch or blue cheese dressing for serving
Oil for frying
Let's get Cooking...
Preheat a pot of oil for frying to 350°F.
Place chicken cutlet between two pieces of plastic wrap and, using a mallet or heavy-bottom saucepan, pound until about 1/8-inch thick; repeat with remaining chicken. Slice chicken cutlets into 3 1/2 x 3-inch pieces and set aside.
To make mozzarella sticks, slice mozzarella in 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch pieces and chill in freezer until firm but not frozen. Wrap with chicken. Season sticks with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Heat a non-stick skillet on medium-high heat and pan fry chicken until seared on all sides.
Unroll Pillsbury Crescent Dough and separate triangles. Wrap each chicken mozzarella stick with 1 dough triangle. Working in batches, fry for 5-7 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Immediately toss in Buffalo sauce and serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
