Bulgogi Cheesesteak Sliders

A riff on a classic Philly cheesesteak made with Korean flavor.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soju (Korean liquor)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 jalapeños, julienned
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 slider buns, toasted on buttered skillet

Let's get Cooking...

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine beef and the following 8 ingredients (up to and including pepper) and mix well; marinate beef for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over high heat, add marinated beef and sauté until fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in green onions and jalapeños; cook 1 more minute.
  3. Divide bulgogi into 3 portions in the pan, and place cheese on top. Pour 1/4 cup of water into the pan and cover. Steam bulgogi until cheese is completely melted, about 2 minutes.
  4. Place between butter-toasted slider buns and enjoy!
