Inverted Cheeseburger


Bread buns are overrated — try this protein packed inverted cheeseburger instead.



  • 200 grams beef flank steak
  • 200 grams ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 1 avocado, cut and sliced
  • 2 onion slices
  • Lime wedge

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Mince the beef steak until nicely grounded.
  2. Combine the minced steak with the ground beef. Add salt, black pepper, sugar and egg and mix well until sticky.
  3. Make four hamburger patties with the meat mixture.
  4. Heat skillet on medium heat. Cook the burgers on both sides until desired doneness. Cook the onions on the same skillet.
  5. Place a slice of cheese on one of the burger patties and cook until melted.
  6. Build the burger starting with the cheese-topped meat patty, followed by the sliced onion, tomato and avocado. Finally top it off with the other meat bun. Garnish with lime wedges.
