Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Frosting and filling:
  • 7 ounces marshmallow fluff
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • Topping:
  • 2 cups coconut, shredded
  • Green food coloring
  • White sprinkles
  • Fondant

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Make the cake: Mix together cocoa powder and warm water. Add milk and set aside.
  3. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract. Add cocoa powder mixture and mix until smooth. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until smooth and combined.
  4. Pour into silicone domes and bake 15 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool.
  5. Make the frosting: In a large bowl, add butter, marshmallow fluff, powdered sugar and shortening. Mix until combined and smooth.
  6. Add half the frosting to a piping bag and fill each cake with frosting. Spread frosting all over the outside of each cake and roll in green coconut. Top with white sprinkles and flowers.
