3 tablespoons butter
4 cups thinly sliced onions
1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and grated
1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
Salt & pepper
1 French baguette
Good quality old white cheddar
Parsley for garnish
Let's get Cooking...
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sauté for a few minutes until golden. Add grated apple and sauté another 10-20 minutes.
Slice the baguette at an angle and lay out the slices on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Add a dollop of onion mixture to each crostini and top with a few slices of apple and a piece of cheese.
Broil until cheese is melted and golden. Garnish with parsley.
