Caramelized Apple And Onion Over Cheddar Crostini

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups thinly sliced onions
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and grated
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 French baguette
  • Good quality old white cheddar
  • Parsley for garnish

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sauté for a few minutes until golden. Add grated apple and sauté another 10-20 minutes.
  2. Slice the baguette at an angle and lay out the slices on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Add a dollop of onion mixture to each crostini and top with a few slices of apple and a piece of cheese.
  3. Broil until cheese is melted and golden. Garnish with parsley.
