Cheesy Pop-Crust Pizza

Why settle for a normal pizza crust when you can enjoy warm, cheese-filled nuggets instead?



  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups white flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 5 ounces grated mozzarella cheese
  • 3 1/2 ounces pepperoni
  • Oregano, to taste
  • 9 ounces mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 egg yolk, for brushing

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Mix yeast, olive oil, water, milk and a pinch of sugar.
  2. Add flour and a pinch of salt; mix until dough forms. Rest the dough for 30 minutes.
  3. Reserve half of the dough. Roll out the other half on a floured surface.
  4. Transfer dough to a pizza pan. Spread tomato paste on top, followed by grated cheese, pepperoni and oregano. Set aside.
  5. Roll out remaining dough into a rectangle, and cut in half lengthwise. Arrange the mozzarella cheese sticks in the center of the dough and close the dough around them. Cut into 2-inch-long pieces.
  6. Brush the edge of the pizza with the egg yolk, arrange the cheese stick rolls around the edge of the pizza, brush with egg yolk again, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
