The ultimate recipe for a hot dog is this chili dog bonanza topped with corn chips, sour cream and jalapeño!
6 hot dog buns
3 tablespoons room temperature butter
6 beef hot dogs
1 1/2 cups (15 ounces) favorite chili
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream, or to taste
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1/2 cup crushed corn chips
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 cup chopped scallion
1/4 cup thinly sliced jalapeño (optional)
Let's get Cooking...
Preheat oven to 375 F
Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil. Butter the tops of the hot dog buns with room temperature butter.
Place the hot dog inside each bun. Evenly divide the chili over each hot dog, about 1/4 cup per bun. Add about 1/3 cup of cheese on top of each hot dog. Cover the baking sheet with foil. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the hot dogs and chili are hot and heated through.
Turn the broiler on, broil the tops of the hot dogs for 2-3 minutes until the buns are lightly toasted.
Remove from oven and top with chopped onion, crushed chips, sour cream, cilantro, scallion, and jalapeño. Serve family style!
