Chocolate Cake With Meringue recipe



  • Ingredients for the dough (prepare two):
  • 60 grams butter (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Ingredients for filling:
  • 100 grams butter
  • 1 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of double cream
  • Ingredients for topping:
  • 4 egg whites
  • 120 grams Sugar
  • 120 grams icing sugar

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Dough: put all the ingredients in the mixer and beat for 5 minutes. Place in a greased and floured cake pan, bake in preheated oven at 180oC for 30 minutes. Prepare two doughs. Reserve.
  2. Filling: mix butter with sugar until fluffy, add the cocoa, mix well, add the double cream, gently. Reserve.
  3. Topping: Whisk the egg white and gradually add the sugar, then beat well. Add the icing sugar and beat until firm.
  4. Assembly: cover a dough with two­thirds of the filling, put the other dough and spread the remaining filling over the cake.
  5. Cover everything with the meringue and burned with the torch.
