Chocolate Dinner and Dessert

Make chocolate a complete meal with red wine, chocolate chicken and an easy chocolate soufflé.



  • 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • Powdered sugar

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, melt chocolate and butter. Add vanilla, and whisk in yolks one at a time until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In a clean bowl, beat egg whites with sugar, salt and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Fold egg whites into chocolate.
  4. Grease ramekins with butter, dust with unsweetened cocoa, and tap out excess. Spoon batter into ramekins.
  5. Bake until puffed and set, approximate 20 minutes. Serve with powdered sugar.
