Chocolate Mocha Spoons

All the fun of licking the spoon, minus the mess.



  • 2 cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips (I use Ghirardelli brand)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup instant coffee granules
  • Antique or plastic spoons
  • Optional toppings: toffee bits, sugar sprinkles, edible pearls, crushed candy canes, candy
  • Disposable pastry bags / large Ziploc bags

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Melt chocolates over steam bath or in microwave, keeping them separate. Stir frequently to keep chocolates from scorching.
  2. Combine half of the dark chocolate with instant coffee. Scoop into spoons and level off. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet in refrigerator until set.
  3. Submerge spoon into remaining dark chocolate. Drizzle with your choice of milk chocolate, white chocolate and/or decorate using various garnishes. Let set completely before placing in decorative bags.
