Fruit Loop Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwich

Julie satisfies her munchies with this doughnut ice cream sandwich.



  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Fruit Loops
  • For the ice cream
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 2 cups Fruit Loops

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two donut pans by spraying them well with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, butter and vanilla. Stir the wet mixture into the dry until just combined. Mix in the Fruit Loops.
  3. Spoon the batter into baking pans and top with extra Fruit Loops. Bake for 17 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then turn out onto a wire rack.
  4. For the ice cream filling, stir together the ice cream and Fruit Loops until well combined. Return to the freezer for 20 minutes. Scoop out balls of ice cream and place between two donuts.
