Homemade Corn Dogs

How to make homemade Carnival Corn Dogs with Julie and Jen.



  • 8 all beef hot dogs
  • Skewers
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 Cornmeal
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 milk
  • Vegetable oil
  • Sundried tomatoes
  • Red wine Vinegar
  • Honey
  • Water
  • 2 cloves roasted garlic
  • Mayo
  • Fleur De Sel
  • Dried Basil
  • Dried oregane
  • Grainy Mustard
  • Maple Syrup

Let's get Cooking...

  1. For the corn dog batter mix, have all the dry ingredients for the batter together. Add eggs and milk and whisk until lump free.
  2. Skewer each of the hot dogs.
  3. Preheat a pot of vegetable oil to 350F. Dip each dog into the batter to coat and then lower into the oil. Remove when golden brown.
  4. For the ketchup, add sundried tomatoes, roasted garlic, red wine vinegar, honey, and water to a food processor. Blend until smooth.
  5. For the mayo, mix basil, oregano, and salt into the mayo. For the Mustard combine mustard and maple syrup.
