How to Make a Fruit Torte


It's simple. It's quick. It's delicious. It allows you to be creative and have fun. It's a winner!!



  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup unbleached flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • Strawberries and blueberries, to taste (or your favorite fruit!)
  • A pinch of salt, to taste
  • A bit of lemon juice, to tase

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream the sugar and butter in a bowl. Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon) and combine, then add the eggs and beat well.
  3. Spoon the batter into its baking dish and place fruit on top of the batter. Sprinkle lightly with sugar and lemon juice (and cinnamon, if you love cinnamon as much as I do). The amount of sugar and lemon juice you put on will depend on the sweetness of the fruit.
  4. Bake 40-50 minutes. Remove and let cool..and it's ready to eat!
