Pig In A Blanket recipe



  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1.8 ounces butter
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 0.35 ounces dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 15 sausages
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Let's get Cooking...

  1. In a small saucepan, add water, milk and butter. Bring to a simmer over low heat until butter is melted, without boiling.
  2. Add 1/2 cup flour, baking powder and sugar. Add the mixture of liquid and mix well. Reserve.
  3. In a bowl, add the remaining flour, making a hole in the center and placing the salt around.
  4. Add the liquid mixture in the middle and then add the egg. Mix the dough with your hands and knead until smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into 30 balls of the same size. Open the balls with the aid of a rolling pin and roll the halved sausages in the dough.
  6. Transfer to a greased pan and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush with yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 392 degrees for 20 minutes.
