Black Bean Pork With Rice

Impress your friends — and your taste buds — with this delicious ground pork number.



  • 200 grams ground pork
  • 20 centimeters stalk welsh onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 stub ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon potato starch (mixed with 1 teaspoon water)
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 tomato
  • 10 centimeters stalk welsh onion, finely sliced
  • Cooked rice
  • Chili oil
  • Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons black bean paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper
  • 70 milliliters water

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Cut cucumbers to 5 centimeters in length and slice very thinly. Slice the tomatoes and set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a frying pan. Add garlic, ginger and chopped welsh onion and saute over low heat until fragrant. Turn up heat to high and add the ground pork. Saute until meat is fully cooked.
  3. Add in ingredients for the sauce and mix to combine well with the meat mixture. Add in potato starch slurry and cook until thickened.
  4. Put cooked rice into a round mold onto a plate. Pour meat mixture over the rice. Garnish with tomatoes, cucumber and finely sliced welsh onion. Drizzle with a little chili oil before serving.
