Sweet and Sour Pork

This all time favourite is a cult classic. Crispy fried pork pieces, pineapple cubes, and the peppers.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams pork shoulder
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup corn flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon plum sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 2 pcs of pineapple rings

Let's get Cooking...

  1. Marinate pork shoulder in soy sauce, rice wine and flour for 25 minutes.
  2. Cut bell pepper into cubes.
  3. Cut pineapple in to cubes.
  4. Chop garlic clove.
  5. Sift plain flour and corn flour into a bowl.
  6. Add baking soda, salt, and cooking oil to the flour. Then crack in an egg and add water. Mix batter until smooth.
  7. Coat the marinated pork in the batter.
  8. Heat cooking oil and deep fry battered pork until golden brown
  9. To make the sauce, in a bowl, mix together ketchup, plum sauce, rice vinegar, worcestershire, oyster sauce, corn flour, sugar, and water.
  10. Heat oil in a wok and add the garlic. Add the bell peppers and pineapple immediately after.
  11. When you can smell the peppers, add the pork to the pan.
  12. Add the sauce to the pan and saute until ingredients are coated and the sauce is thickened.
